With an extensive background in climbing mountains, being originally from Colorado, I was equipped with the experience and rationale to develop a hiking boot design suited for long-range and high-elevation climbing. After a market study on comparable hiking boot technology, membrane and material study, and the function of tread, the concept itself was to be assembled using visually similar fabrics and foam materials to create a "look-alike" prototype to convey all of the visual information intended in the design. A storyboard, shown below, documents each step taken during the prototyping process.
