SPACE-X CUBE-SAT CHALLENGE

In 2015, an independent CAD study was undertaken to explore the viability of 3D printed designs in space, as part of an open challenge hosted by Dassault GrabCAD and Space X to develop a modular10cm Cube Satellite, that could be 3D printed in Zero- G conditions and autonomously launched from a separate launcher, in high orbit. The function of these satellites is to unfold, and expose a greater surface area, to conduct scientific research in orbit at a low cost. Two designs were built in Solidworks from scratch and submitted to the competition.
